The ER1 personal robot system provides real-world functionality via the owner's laptop, allowing technology enthusiasts to own and train their individual robots. The ER1 can be trained with "if-then" statements to take actions and act autonomously. It can see and recognize objects, colors, and words; receive and interpret email; act on a schedule; move around autonomously or by remote control; play sounds and music; take pictures and record video; and even pick up and carry things with the robot gripper & other accessories.
