| CImg : A Templated Image Processing Library in C++ |
The CImg Library is a C++ toolkit that provides simple classes and functions to process and display images within your own C++ code. It only consists of a single header file CImg.h that must be included in your program. It fully works both on Unix/X11 and Windows operating systems. It depends on a minimal number of library : you can compile it with only standart C libraries. Additional features appear with the use of LAPACK, and ImageMagick. Then, no need to compile exotic libraries and to have huge makefile and complex dependencies ! CImg stands for "Cool Image" : It is designed to be simple to use and efficient. Submitted: Apr 08, 2004

| paintlib |
A C++ class library for image coding and manipulation. It supports the PNG, TGA, TIFF, JPEG/JFIF, Windows BMP, and Mac PICT formats. The PNG, TIFF, and JPEG decoders are based on libpng, libtiff, and libjpeg, respectively. Data source and destination formats can be tailored as necessary. Additionally, format-independent but fast bitmap manipulation classes are available. A source code distribution is available. Submitted: Jan 11, 2000

| Image Restoration and Inpainting |
This site is a dynamic moving site around image restoration and inpainting. We think it is important that people can feel by theirselves: How to improve their picture. C++ Javalike, the application provides already more than 20 restorations and more than five inpaintings. We like Sethian's work on Level Sets, and the coming release provides a new tool: the Fast Marching. Submitted: Jun 20, 2002

| RoboRealm - Free Robotic Vision Software |
RoboRealm provides you with an interactive and experimentation vision system to investigate the very complex world of image analysis and image processing. Through an easy to use analysis pipeline you can add image processing filters to translate an image into robotic movements, computer actions, or just plain fun! RoboRealm is free to download! Image and/or video processing can be technically difficult. Home robots are continuously moving towards high powered PC based systems that are capable of supporting complex image processing functions. Sometimes you just need a testbed of current image processing applications to test potential ideas that you want your robot or computer+webcam application to perform. We've compiled several image processing functions into a freely available windows based application that you can use with your computer's webcam. You can use it to test out your vision ideas and see what may be possible or not ... have fun! We did! Submitted: Jul 09, 2006

| devIL - A Full Featured Cross Platform Image Library |
Developer's Image Library (DevIL) is a programmer's library to develop applications with very powerful image loading capabilities, yet is easy for a developer to learn and use. Ultimate control of images is left to the developer, so unnecessary conversions, etc. are not performed. DevIL utilizes a simple, yet powerful, syntax. DevIL can load, save, convert, manipulate, filter and display a wide variety of image formats. Submitted: Jul 12, 2004

| ImageDIG 2D/3D Image Digitizer |
ImageDIG consists of three modules which allow the user to convert 2D flat images into 3D (x,y,z) data or if a graph, convert the graph in image form into 2 dimensional numerical data for further analysis. The third module is a general purpose plotting program where the user can import either the 2D data saved above or import any 1 column or 2 column data from a file and graphically display it. | EasyBMP Cross Platform Bitmap (BMP) Library |
EasyBMP is an easy cross-platform C++ library for reading and writing Windows bitmap (BMP) files. No installation, no need for external libraries, small in size, well-documented, and simple enough for the novice programmer to start in just minutes! EasyBMP particularly shines as an easy image input/output tool for scientists and other technically-minded people who may not be formally trained in programming. Submitted: Aug 22, 2005

| Image Apprentice |
ADISL’s Image Apprentice is a C/C++ based Image Processing Learner’s Toolkit. Students use it as a companion to their favourite Image Processing Textbook. It allows you to use your self-written image processing algorithms as plugins. It comes with a Plugin Development Kit (PDK) that has a skeleton code having a simple coding style. A student who has attended a 101-level course in C/C++ programming is well-equipped to write an Image Processing plugin using Visual C++. Submitted: Feb 23, 2006
