|STAT is a set of about 30 data manipulation and analysis programs. The manipulation programs are general C utilities that work with other standard programs like sort. The analysis programs compute most widely
used statistics. |STAT programs are designed with the philosophy that individual programs should be
designed as tools that do one task well and produce output suitable for input via pipes to |STAT and other programs.

This is a library of functions to facilitate statistical computing. It has functions on the same level as the typical statistics package (OLS, probit, singular value decomposition, &c.), but does not tie the user to an ad hoc language and environment.

The scope of the UVS library is univariate (single variable) statistics. In particular, the following statistical operations are supported: distribution modeling - properties of commonly used statistical distributions; process generation - creating pseudo-random variables with specified distributions; sample statistics - for summarizing statistical data; hypothesis testing - for determining if experimental results could just be noise.

This is a class for collecting and printing simple statistics, meaning integers, unsigned integers, and one-word floating-point numbers. Statistics are collected in modules (meant to correspond to software modules). Each module consists of a list of statistics, along with metadata describing the type and semantics of each statistic. Modules are distinguished by unique masks, which are manifest constants (there is no convenient way to make sure the masks are unique).
